Its European collection is its most extensive collection and includes works by Rembrandt, Rubens, Cezanne, Monet, Matisse, and Picasso. The Asian and African collections include sculptures, paintings, bronzes, and ceramics. The building was designed by Louis Kahn and is widely recognized as one of the most significant works of architecture of recent times. Khan combined 100-foot long concrete vaults with a unique skylight system to create a naturally lighted and beautiful space to show the Kimbell’s artistic treasures.
