Greg McComas is an HO scale modeler and owner of MAC Rail LLC. from Fort Worth, Texas. Model railroading has been part of Greg's life since early childhood when he got his first LGB G scale layout at Christmas. Through his journey in the hobby, Greg moved into HO Scale and eventually freelance model railroading with his Michigan Interstate Railroad. His current Michigan Interstate St. Clair Sub was started in 2011 and fits a lot of railroading into a small space without compromising operations. Greg is married and the father of a son and daughter. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and has worked in the transportation industry for the past 20 years.

This clinic will focus on key topics to help define, design, and tailor operations on your model railroad. Using my Michigan Interstate St. Clair Subdivision as an example we will walk through the evolution of layout operations starting with a defining question; "What is your model railroad's purpose?". From this question we look at different aspects and approaches to operations including design, industry selection, car management, and train management. Key takeaways from this clinic use the F.L.E.X. acronym to provide a simple reminder as you implement or improve your model railroad operations.
